Ramya does a guest appearance in Bulbul

Ramya Barna has marked a niche for herself with varied roles. After playing the leading lady in couple of her films, Anarkali and Ondu Rupayalli Eradu Preethi, Ramya will be part of Bulbul.

“It's a guest appearance and not a second lead, as being publicised. I want to make this clear because the same thing happened in the film, Paramathma. I had told everybody that I was one of the heroines in the movie.  But when it came out, every one had one question, 'how can you say you were the heroine when you had very less screen space?' I was fed up of giving clarifications,” she explains.

She wanted to work in Bulbul as she was sitting idle for a week at home. She says, “I also wanted to work in one of Darshan's films. I have never worked with the Challenging Star and when I was offered this particular role, I was free and decided to take it.”

According to her, she never looked for more screen space in any film. “It might be a guest appearance, but the character's impact will be enough for me. I don't agree that only lead roles will be noticed in a film. For that matter, Pancharangi had me playing a supporting character, which did bring me lot of appreciation. It is not about how long you are seen, it is the impact you create in the little space you are given and it has worked in my case,” asserts Ramya, adding, “You gain experience by working in a variety of films and also get to know different kind of people. To top it all, I am paired opposite Darshan in the film. It makes a difference. Secondly, I don't like to sit idle.”

The actress is content with the kind of films, she is currently part of.  “I am going slow and steady. I do have another film, which has come up for discussion,” she says.

Bulbul will also see another actress, Spoorthi playing a sister’s role to the Challenging star. The actress was previously seen in Bodyguard opposite Jaggesh.
