After 'Gangs of Wasseypur 1' proved to be a smashing hit at the box office, movie lovers are now eagerly waiting for the release of 'Gangs of Wasseypur 2' on August 8. The movie is an extension of 'Gangs of Wasseypur', which released on June 22 to much critical acclaim .

The second part will have Faisal Khan - played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui - taking revenge of his father and grandfather’s death, against Ramadhir Singh (Tigmanshu Dhulia).

Says Sujeet Apaya, student, “ I am eagerly waiting for the film to release. I want to know what happens next as the first film ended with sarkar getting shot.”

Sujeet loved the first film as it was close to reality. “I really like films which convey a message. GoW 1 was hard hitting and realistic. I really hope the second part does not disappoint,” he adds.

Recently director of GoW, Anurag Kashyap tweeted.“The grand faceoff between Ramadir Singh & Faizal S Khan has started. Join them.” The first part hit theaters on June 22 and the second half of the five-hour film was initially slated for an end-July release. But now the date has been revised and the movie is slated for August 8. Both the parts were screened at the Cannes film festival this year and received much critical acclaim.

“I am very excited for the second part. The first film was phenomenal. I really liked the way Kashyap plays with the topic. He shows you the reality and the film is raw. He does not tamper with the truth, ”says Piyush Goswami, city based photographer.

Piyush adds that the best part about Kashyap is the fact the he never deviates from the truth come what may.

The first part narrates the story of Sardar Khan and Ramadir Singh, based on the real life story of Shafi Khan and Surya Dev Singh, both of whom were rivals and are no longer alive. Part two of the movie is essentially the story of Sardar Khan’s son Faisal Khan, who is Faheem Khan in real life. Faheem Khan is alive and in the Dhanbad jail currently.
