Designer Aniket Satam targets youth with Indian weaves

Designer Aniket Satam has launched his latest collection titled "Popsicle Paradiso", exclusively made with Indian fabrics like tussar and matka silk. He wants to target Indian teenagers with the new line.

"The collection is inspired by the retro innocence of the mid-1960s. It is basically a younger line for teenagers, and comes in bright vibrant neon palette. The designs are made from Indian textiles like matka silk, cotton silk, raw silk and tussar," Satam told IANS.

The silhouettes of the line varies from sheath, shift dresses, shirt dresses, tunics along with slouchy bomber jackets, hot pants and drape tops.

Satam has used a bright palette of colours like pink, orange and yellow with classic monochrome and retro prints in technicolor. Also, surface detailings like neon zippers and printed mul have been used majorly in the designs.

"This is an affordable line targeting teenagers and yuppies (young urban professionals) looking for a crippy weekend wardrobe. The collection is an assortment which you can flaunt at a lunch date or even for evening drinks," said the designer.

The price of the collection is on request and is available at the designer's store here.
