Bringing out the writer in the child

The Campfire Young Writer of the Year awards were announced recently. This pan-India contest which was inaugurated this year received over 5,000 entries from children from Classes 5 to 9 across the country. The Campfire Young Writer of the Year 2012 title was won by Sahir D’Souza from Class 8, Shishuvan School, Mumbai for his story The Spirit and the Tree. He will be awarded an iPad and a trophy. The all-India class winners for 2012 are: Arohi Purnaye from GG International School, Pune; Madirekshana Chakraborty from Step by Step School, Noida; Rohit Rao from Prakriya Green Wisdom School, Bangalore, and Tanuj Lalwani Inventure Academy, Bangalore.
