The very popular figure in Kannada movies — Raghu Ramappa did his BCom degree from BHS College. “Each moment spent there, I have enjoyed fully! I have always had a lot of friends all of whom were special to me. We took long drives to the outskirts of the city and had dinner en route. For me, the all-time favourite hang-out spot is the gym!” he chuckles.
Always into body building and having participated in many such events, he says that his most memorable moment was when he won the first prize in the Bharath Uday National level Body building event.
Talking about the movie 35/100 Just Pass, Raghu says the movie refreshes his college memories. Though the movie depicts a typical college life, playing the role was a challenge for him. “I needed a typical goonda look which is not close to my true nature,” he says. He says that he was involved in a lot of extracurricular activities other than his academics. “It is not that I was lagging behind in my studies for this; I maintained balanced between the both.”
Raghu, who was fond of drawing, remembers a crazy incident, “I made caricatures of my lecturers and was caught. Funniest part was, they praised my talent! Thankfully I was a teachers’ pet,” he says.
After all the fun and frolic in college, it wasn’t an abrupt process entering the movies. “The theatre clubs in my college were stepping stones for me.” After his college, he gave an audition for his debut movie which was made by software engineers. “Luckily I got selected and that’s when my
acting career started,” he says. When asked if he would leave this present stardom and to relive his college days, he says, “Surely, I am the same boy with same friends” ■
