The Women and Children Hospital at Thycaud, which obtained the accreditation of the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals (NABH) recently, will soon get a fully-equipped laboratory, a Karunya pharmacy and a canteen. The construction of the laboratory will begin in two months’ time, Health Minister V S Sivakumar said. The canteen will be started using MLA funds. A permanent anaesthetist will be appointed at the hospital’s infertility clinic. Steps will be taken to construct a compound wall for the hospital after discussions with the Thiruvananthapuram Development Authority (TRIDA), the Minister said.
A meeting was held at the hospital on Tuesday to felicitate the staff and employees for working to win the NABH accreditation. The Health Minister inaugurated the function, which was presided over by the District Medical Officer. ENS
