Thoppil Bhasi Award for the year 2012 has gone to actor KPAC Lalitha. The award will be presented by litterateur ONV Kurup on Saturday at Bank Employees Union Hall in the city at 5 pm.
The award instituted by Thoppil Bhasi Foundation comprises a sum of Rs 33,333, a statuette designed by Karaikkamandapam Vijayakumar and scroll of honour. The function will be presided over by Thoppil Bhasi Foundation chairman Panniyan Raveendran. Ammini Amma, wife of Thoppil Bhasi, will drape a ‘ponnada’ around the award winner. Puthussery Ramachandran will deliver the Thoppil Bhasi memorial lecture on the occasion.
