R Indu Sekhar passes away

R Indu Sekhar, 89, passed away on Tuesday.
A Trustee of the Madhavan Nayar Foundation at Edappally, Indu Sekhar had been active in several organisations including Rotary, Cochin Chamber of Commerce and the Kerala Fine Arts Society.
Having finished his post graduation from University College in Thiruvananthapuram (then Maharaja’s College), Indu Sekhar got a job in the Government’s Information Department during the Second World War.
He later worked with the Department of Civil Supplies and the Wolkart Brothers before settling in Kochi in the 1950s.
He was also a renowned orator, musicologist and musician and was known for his knowledge of the works by Thyagaraja and Swathi Thirunal.
He is the brother of prominent industrialist and philanthropist the late R Madhavan Nayar.
He is survived by wife Radha and daughters Rukmini and Roshni
