Workshop on Ophthalmology held

Dr R R Varma inaugurated the state-level workshop for doctors, organised by Little Flower Hospital, Angamaly, in association with the Kerala Society of Ophthalmic Surgeons (KSOS) on ‘Laser surgery and modern trends in the field of ophthalmology, the other day.

Hospital director Fr Sebastian Vadakkumpadan presided over the inaugural function in which KSOS state secretary Dr Sai Kumar, medical superintendent Dr Cheriyan Joseph, Ophthalmology Department head Dr B Radha Ramanan, Dr Thomas Cheriyan and Dr Joseph Francis also spoke.

Along with usual mode of treatment, new treatment methods for beautification of the eye is also getting importance, said Dr Milind Naik of LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, while delivering the introductory speech. Experts shared their experiences on laser treatment and keyhole surgeries. Dr Mahipal Sachdev, Dr Ajith Babu, Dr B Sreedhar Rao, Dr Jacob Koshy, Dr Binu Balan, Dr Freddy T Simon, Dr Sai Kumar, Dr Elizebath Joseph, Dr Aneeta Jabbar, Dr J Kalliyath, Dr Ani Sreedhar and Dr Jaison V A presented papers on various topics.
