As many as 906 cases of fever and eight cases of dengue were reported from various parts of the district on a single day. Of the 906 cases reported in the out-patient wings in hospitals across the district, 54 have been admitted to various hospitals for treatment. 875 cases of fever were reported from the district till Friday.
Ernakulam DMO Dr Haseena Muhammad said that eight new cases of dengue were reported from various parts. There was only one case of dengue on Friday and the total number of dengue cases from January to June stood at 74, she said.
Rat fever cases also showed an increase with 53 cases reported on Friday. The Health Department confirmed 67 cases of Hepatitis B, including 26 cases reported from Ramamangalam area alone.
