CUSAT BTech results: Model Engineering College finishes on top

Model Engineering College, Thrikkakara, recorded the highest pass percentage of 73.1 per cent in the BTech eighth semester examination conducted by the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT). The results were announced on Friday.
Of the 5,849 candidates who appeared for the examination from 21 colleges, 3,176 cleared the exam.
800 candidates secured a first class with distinction, while 2,372 attained a first class and four got second class. The overall pass percentage was 54.3 per cent.
College of Engineering, Chengannur, stood second with a 70.48 pass percentage followed by School of Engineering, Cusat, with 66.55 per cent pass.
Girls Steal the Show
Girls bagged the first rank in most streams. Della Jose of SOE secured the first rank in civil engineering with 7,121 marks.
Pravija Raj P V of Thalassery topped the computer science stream with 6,941 marks.
In electronics and communication engineering, Teenu Thankachan of Model Engineering College topped with 7,111 marks.
Ammu Dinakaran of TKM scored highest in food technology with 6,110 marks while Rinsha V of Thalassery topped electrical and electronics engineering with 6,809 marks.
Sibimol Luke of TKM was the topper in electronics and instrumentation engineering with 6,645 marks.
In electronics and biomedical engineering, Anciya Beeran of MEC stood first with 6,631 marks.
Binu S Babu of Poonjar bagged the first rank in information technology stream with 6,769 marks, Abin Krishnan of SOE topped mechanical engineering with 6,793 marks, and Ashish Ranjan of SOE stood first in safety and fire engineering with 6,599 marks.
