Kamal Haasan opposes death penalty for rape

“It is my bus! It is my capital! She is my sister and the man who committed the crime is my brother! I am ashamed,” gushed Kamal Haasan, on the rape incident in Delhi that shook the nation. The actor was on a visit to the city for the audio launch of his new movie ‘Viswaroopam’.
“But I cannot agree with the decision on capital punishment. How can we justify one crime by committing another,” the actor wondered. Kamal’s new movie ‘Viswaroopam’, released in Tamil and Hindi, has been made at a whopping budget of `95 crore. The movie would be released on January 11 and a day prior to the release, the movie will be premiered on direct-to-home (DTH) platforms.
“We have already inked pacts with some leading DTH providers for the movie premiere at 9.30 pm on January 10. The movie will be available on Airtel, Tata Sky, Sun, Dish, Videocon and Reliance networks. The price of viewing the film at home will be `1,000 per connection. There will be a single telecast at the above mentioned time which cannot be recorded.
The unique electronic signature would help us detect the set-up box, in case the movie is being copied,” the actor said. The Hindi version will be available in the North, except on Tata Sky.
However, the actor admitted that the TV premiere cannot match the theatre experience, as Viswaroopam is the first Indian movie to be equipped with the Auro-3D sound system.
“In Chennai, a total of 25 theatres are equipped with the sound system. In Kerala, around three theatres are expected to have this system by the time of the release,” Kamal said.
The actor expressed his optimism on the decision to conduct a premiere on DTH platform, which will set a new trend.
Brushing aside rumours, the actor stated that the theme of the movie is not anti-Muslim.
“The USP of the film is its content and I believe that people will like it for the effort that we have put in. We have brought together some talented technicians from across the globe,” Kamal added.
A sequel to Viswaroopam would be released next year, the actor said. Kamal Haasan, Rahul Bose, Shekar Kapoor, Pooja Kumar and Andrea are will star in the movie.

yes, kamal is correct. capital punishment is not a issue. But who will restore human values in people who committed such brutal actions.

It should be a lesson to him as well as the breeding criminals. Yes. Mahathmas told 'We consider our independance is a true one if a woman walk alone on the street in midnight" What is happening??? our sister couldn't travel in a bus. She was brutally raped and thrown out . What is her condition now??? What is the outcome ??? What is happening in the capital city??? How many people injurered ???? How much loss caused???? Why this sort of unrest ???? Our sisters/mothers want safety and security for their existence. What sort of solution you are going to give???? There is no value for human -You are asking " who will restore human values in people who committed such brutal actions???" Think it over.

Hello Gents, Kamal is leading a high profile life. He does not know the pain of a mother who gave birth to the girl who fought for her modesty bravely. Those barbarians who attacked the girl are sick animals and should not be allowed roam freely to find another gullible person. Death to those goons in public is the correct lesson for such horrific acts of crime.

They must be hanged but only for 1 minute every fortnight/month until he turns unconscious. I am obvious that the person hanged for 1 minute will be survived. This would be very terrific treatment to see the jaws of death and come back alive. He will never do the mistake after getting release.

in my opinion -capital punishment is required - ask the victim first and then parents who have gone through this ordeal - if victim is alive what will she ask for - leave them or capital punishment - PLEASE THINK AS IF WE HAV THAT PAIN - NOT OTHER.... if glossy people say who are those who have money to protect and move in security cordens - what about girls like NIRBHAYA - in telugu language nirbhaya means fearless - but by these type of acts the persons who have done will be NIRBHAYA'S (fearless) IF CAPITAL PUNISHMENT IS NOT GIVEN....think think..

In his film, he is depicting murder, killing for the offenders - Mahanadhi, Indian and so on. He agrees that he is having double face / mind. He has got soft corner towards sexual offenders? To their children and nearer / dearer ones even very minor comments, they will not be able to tolerate.Harsh punishment, timely / speedy trial, sympathetic approach of police towards the victims can help to reduce crimes. For traffic violations, if there is no fine / cases, how many will follow traffic rules?

Dear brothers and sisters, Everyone has rights to share their opinion. So please kindly share your views instead of blaming each other. Fight to Implement French rule everything willl be perfect and Scrap the UK Rule in India law. Millions of people freed from millions of false cases and everyone will be under controlled. It is easy to say anything by word. Rich people sex is a toy! Middle class and lower class people sex is sensitive! 6 billion people 6 billion characters and 6 billion thinkings!
