‘Saint Dracula’ background score in Oscar race

The background music of the musical-horror flick ‘Saint Dracula 3D’, scored by Malayali composer Sreevalsan J Menon has been nominated in the ‘Original Score category’ of the 85th Oscar Academy Awards, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced on Tuesday. A R Rahman’s ‘People Like Us’, a Hollywood movie has also found its place in the movie. ‘Skyfall’, ‘Life of Pi’, ‘The Twilight Saga’ are among the 104 scores selected from thousands of nomination.
“The team of ‘Saint Dracula 3D’ consider it as an honour to find place in the prestigious award nomination,” says director Rupesh Paul. He adds that movie is a musical drama, unlike the usual Dracula films.
‘Saint Dracula 3D’ tells the story of Prince Vlad Tepes of Wallachia of the 15th century, the Dracula and his love of life- Clara the nun. The film produced by Biz TV Network will be released next year after its official screening at Berlin International Film Festival, informs Rupesh.
