Focus on technology to ensure care: Expert

Beneficial care and safety could be ensured only by giving more thrust to medical science and technology, said Dr Sundaran, executive director, National Health Systems Resource Centre. He was speaking at the international fellowship on Health Technology Assessment organised by the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences during the seminar on ‘Role of Health Technology in the field of Medical Science and Technology.

The patients must be ensured safe and useful treatment, said Dr Sundaran.  The event held in association with the University of Adelaide, University of Toronto, University of Liverpool, Health Innovation Centre IIT Madras and NABH saw national and international experts taking part in it. 

Dr Prakasha, director of HTA University of Toronto, Dr Gayatri, director of NABH, medical superintendent of AIMS Dr Shakti Kumar Gupta, independent consultant from the Ministry of Health Dr Sunil Nataraj, Dr Jitendra from WHO Geneva, health economist Krishna Rao, commandant army cops Dr Pawan Kumar and director of Indian Statistics Institute Dr Anil Sreevasthava were the other experts who were present at the meet.
