Christmas carol fest on Sunday

‘Pulkoottil Pookalam,’ a carol fest, will be held by the Department of Sacred Music and Communications, music wing of the Mar Thoma Syrian Church, at St. Albert’s School Ground, Banerji Road, Ernakulam on Sunday at 5.30 pm.
Seven choir groups from different Christian denominations will present old and new carols.
Sing India with Jerry Amaldev, DSMC Choir, Tiruvalla, St. George Orthodox Church, CSI Immanuel Church, Sharon Mar Thoma Church, Salem Mar Thoma Church and Jerusalem Mar Thoma Church will participate in the programme.
Dr. Joseph Mar Thoma Metropolitan, head of the Mar Thoma Syrian Church, will inaugurate the programme. Dr. Yakub Mar Irenius, Metropolitan of Orthodox Church, will deliver the Christmas message. Joseph Mar Barnabas Episcopa, DSMC president, will preside over the meeting and Rev. K G Daniel of CSI Church will offer felicitations. A new Christmas album ‘Pulkoottil Pookalam’ will be released at the programme.
Rev. Dr. John Joseph, Rev. Mathew Mathews and Babu Varghese are in charge of different committees, says Rev. John Mathai, Director, DSMC, in a press release.
