High Court road to get a facelift

GHMC Commissioner M T Krishna Babu inspected critical areas, disposable points and nala widening works that are being undertaken at Doodh Bowli, Bilal Nagar, Jahanuma, Amjadullah Bagh, Kalapather, Phool Bagh and Chunni ka Bhatti on Monday. Post the inspection, he directed the officials to maintain the road leading from High Court to City College, take up recarpeting works, without causing inconvenience, as the road was used by top officials.

He pointed out that the road was in a terrible condition, shabby looking with over-flowing water. The residents of the areas voiced their grievances that included flooding of their homes due to heavy rain, causing inconvenience and danger for the residents. They requested the officials to sort out the issue.

Krishna Babu directed officials to coordinate with the concerned area corporators and local representatives to take their options in settling the problems.

The commissioner expressed his dissatisfaction over the working of the engineering wing and directed the chief engineer to improve the working style of the executive engineers. The commissioner also instructed health wing officials to bring shops such as chicken and meat shops under bulk garbage net which in turn will help improve the sanitation as well as GHMC's finances. The area corporator M.A. Gaffar, local representatives of Jahanuma division a nd senior officials of GHMC were also present.
