Runaway driver held, 50 lakhs recovered

A day after a car driver had driven away with his employer’s Rs 50 lakh cash, the Abids police took the accused into their custody on Thursday and recovered the cash from him.
Sources said the police traced the accused, Prakash, at Narayanakhed in Medak district and will bring him to the city.When the accused was talking with his friends and his family members over mobile phone continuously, police tracked the phone signals and nabbed him.
Police officials will announce his arrest officially by producing the accused before the media on Friday. Prakash, a driver with jeweller Ajay Kumar Agarwal, drove away with his employer’s Rs 50 lakh cash in Abids police station limits on Wednesday. Agarwal, on the way from home to a bank to deposit the money, stopped by at Triveni Complex to meet a friend and got down, leaving the money behind in the car.
Seizing the opportunity, Prakash, who had been working with Ajay just for three months, drove off with the money.
