Most parents welcome their newborns with affection and much joy. However, this baby girl was not. Hours after she was born, the infant’s mother packed her in a polythene bag and tried to throw her out of a moving train. But the baby was saved. Commuters, who were alerted by the infant’s wails, thwarted the mother’s attempt to hurl the bag out of a moving train on Wednesday. The woman, identified as Chitra, was later taken to a human rights organisation in the city.
Separated from her husband for over a decade, Chitra (36) gave birth to the baby girl in her house at Ulundurpet in Villupuram around 10.00 pm on Tuesday. “Fearing my parents, I ran away. I moved out to give my baby to somebody for her better future,” Chitra said. On reaching Chengalpet, she stuffed her baby in a polythene bag and boarded another train for Chennai. After the train chugged out of Singaperumalkoil, Chitra tried to throw the bag with the baby around 8.30 am. Lakshmi Raghuram, a medical organiser with a human rights organisation, to whom the baby was handed over said her firm would facilitate the infant’s adoption and that she has written a letter to the police.

Genderside is a very sad way to deal with domestic or family violence. Every child deserves to be loved and cared for.Equality of the sexes is inevitable and unavoidable, no matter how much corruption is present in society today, it will change in the future.Compassion and caring are more important than money. Please help save little children everywhere. Help people to feel safe, no matter what gender, colour or religion they are.

The value of human life is not decided by human beings. God created and creates life and human life is beyond any means to place a value upon. It is sacred. If ever something could prove the existence of evil in the world and it's power to distort our vision it is in any thought or argument that finds excuse for the taking of human life. God has no interest in the excuses we offer for killing and the murder of babies, however, and for whatever reason, it is done is something that has consequences that are beyond us to even begin to understand.
