Embattled Kamal Haasan starrer Viswaroopam encountered fresh trouble on Tuesday with a section of Muslim leaders meeting City Police Commissioner S George and demanding a complete ban on its screening.
In all, 20 leaders met the CoP and alleged that the movie had scenes that portrayed the ‘Holy Quran’ and the religion in a bad light.
They claimed that Viswaroopam had a plot in which an RAW official sets out to hunt terrorists (read Muslims) but later takes the side of the terrorists to train them in warfare.
The leaders demanded that the police prevent its release on January 26 to ensure that social harmony was not disrupted.
They also said that they had plans of meeting the State Home Secretary in this regard. Earlier, Muslim outfits demanded a special screening of the film prior to its release.

Why would anybody work without remuneration? Would you work without expecting Salary? Every other terrorist movie has shown some muslims as Terrorists. Everybody in the world know that all muslims are not terrorists! and lets not forget that that there are other terrorists in the country / world. I do not think that anyone should stop a movie from screening in this country. Protesting for anything and everything is the flavor of this season i think... not that all protests are for wrong cause. The movie should be allowed to screen. Just an Example... in his movie Hey Ram he opened fire on Gandhi... he was not a muslim and in fact he was close friend of another muslim friend (SRK). Movies don't judge any religion... just pass this one and enjoy the movie

What do you say? if someone makes a movie about your family with lies just enjoy the movie, is this your answer of it or getting angry. Islam is not like our family, its more than that. We (Muslims) love our Prophet Mohammed more than our souls and everything. He describes (in this movie) Islam means Terrorism & Muslims are Terrorist.

If the movie portraying some muslims as terrorists so what....this is what happened in reality right,who attack and killed more than 300 people in Delhi recently?Who attack the twin tower in New York -killing 3000 people?Who attack the oil refinery center in Algeria -killing 38 people?Who attack wet market in Nigeria -killing 23 people and almost daily basis killing by taliban and al qaeda in Afganistan,Irag,pakistan -killing dozens of people,who are they....are they Christian,Hindu,Buddist or jews no it's Muslim extremist so even if the movie banned forever non muslim and world knows who're the real culprit it's muslims........a few or all it's doesn't matter but their are the one who will fall at the end because of their arrogance and typical mentality. In India and all other countries non muslims should boycot muslims services and product because that what they're doing now...there is nothing to tolerate anymore.....fight fire with fire and blood with blood.

who r u to ask kamal hassan not to get any remuneration. will u work without remuneration for anything. viswaroopam is just a film just see and enjoy, don't make any religious discrimination.The film is about terrorism, not against Islam, plz kindly differentiation between viswaroopam by Kamal and Prophet Muhammad by non-muslims. try to an Indian think +ve. .

Guys stop giving religion color for anything and everything, rather work for the upliftment of poor people ,more than 80% of your population is below the poverty line. It would be good if all of your energy utilised for usefull cause rather than comming to street every now and than.

The movie wld have passed censor board. Why shld govt ban it now? In that case govt shld dissolve censor board too. It's all so stupid. M F Hussain can draw nude Sita, Parvati etc for art but kamal Hassan shld not creat another art with a Hussain in it?

Please.. please.. please stop this religion color. See film as a film, all are Indians and no one in this world has rights to comment about other religion. Kamal Hasan being legend of Indian cinema knows this very well, I am confident that Kamal might not have pictured this film to show Muslims in negative shadow. All religions in this world are equal, it is not that Muslims are all terrorists. See the movie from the angle of creativity and thinking and not from any other way.
