An Oman Air flight from Muscat that landed at 5.20 am at the Chennai airport, was found to have punctured its rear tyre when it came to a halt.
According to airport sources, the plane carrying 146 passengers had made a normal landing but had a bit of a drag when it was on the taxi way.
The pilot safely landed the plane and ensured that all the passengers disembarked from the flight safely. There was no alarm of any sort.
Eventually, engineers and technicians found that the tyre had been punctured and would need replacement. As a result, the return flight to Muscat was rescheduled till late in the evening.
Flight WY 252 had 185 passengers waiting to depart. However, this took place around 9 pm, as the spares had to be flown in from Mumbai.
