Founder’s day held

The 25th founder’s day celebration of Saveetha University was conducted recently. Acting Consulate General of Japan, Takayuki Kitagawa was the chief guest on the occasion. The highlight of the function was the presentation of the Rs 50 Lakh worth scholarships to 174 students for excellence in academics. During the function, a newsletter “SYNAPSE” by Saveetha Medical College was released by the chief guest.
Lifetime achievement awards were given to five scholars — Dr S Ramananda Shetty, MDS, vice-chancellor, Nitte University; Dr S Asokan, MS, senior consultant, Vijaya Hospital, Chennai; Dr A Muruganathan, MD FRCP (GLASG) FACP (USA) FICP, adjunct professor, Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University; V P Sengottuvel, advocate; and Dr K Sivakumar, PhD, regional director-Coimbatore, Anna University.
