Flavours of India in city

At an ongoing exhibition ‘Nature Bazaar’, over 110 craftsmen were seen displaying and selling authentic Indian art and craft accessories, jewellery and household items from almost 20 states of India.

Prominent among those are groups which have displayed more than 10 new varieties of crafts including jewellery made from jute and grains, Shantiniketan leather, hand woven and hand spun khadi from West Bengal, leather juttis from Patiala, Punjab, intricate embroidery from Gujarat, sujni embroidery from Bihar, organic cotton from Tamil Nadu, khus products from Karnataka, ikat weaving and kalamkari from Andhra Pradesh.

With camel as the theme, visitors at the Bazaar can also experience special live cultural performances from Kerala which includes the state martial art, Kalaripayattu, Bommalattam, puppet folk dance and chakyarkoothu, a traditional comedy art form from Kerala.

The exhibition will go on till September 9 from 10.30 am to 8 pm at E-Zone Club, Marathahalli. People visiting the Bazaar will also see interesting food stalls presenting the unique tastes of India.
