The ICPA (International Centre For Performing Arts), Bangalore, recently organised a two-day 'Dance and Music Festival' at Yelahanka Government First Grade College.

During the day, there was a two-day lecture demonstration on Kathakali by Dr Ettumanoor Kannan and his team.

It was an artistic delight to experience,  the way Dr Kannan enacted the nuances of the art form and responded to the queries of the inquisitive and enthralled audience.

The programme was inaugurated by the MLA of Yelahanka constituency, S R Vishwanath, accompanied by Vanihree Vishwanath. The first day started with a violin concert by Arun Venkitaraman and party, Kuchipudi by Dr Kavitha and Mohiniyattom by Sangeetha Iyer, then followed by a Kathakali performance, on story “Bakavadham”, magnificently portrayed by Dr Ettumanoor Kannan, Kalamandalam Hari R Nair and Soja UC ( ICPA Bangalore) accompanied by Kalamandalam Vinod and team.

The programme started with a Hindustani classical vocal concert by Anoop Krishnan and party, followed by Kathakali performance - “Kiratham” which also was presented by Kalamandalam Hari R Nair, Kalamandalam Anil and Ravi Karangat (ICPA Bangalore), accompanied by Kalamandalam Vinod (vocal) and his team.
