Indian markets settledflat with positive bias ahead of ECB meet
today and US employment data whichwill come out on Friday. IT, teck
and auto stocks gained, while FMCG fell the most.
At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex added
32.93 points or 0.19% at 17,346.27 with 17 components registering
rise. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty climbed by 12.70 points
or 0.24% at 5,238.40 with 29 components posting rise.Sensex

followed by ICICI Bank (22.89 points), Wipro (11.75 points), Tata
Consultancy Services (10.31 points) and Tata Motors (9.9
However, ITC contributed fall of 46.32 points in the Sensex. It
was followed by HDFC Bank (12.03 points), Bharti Airtel (8.03
points), Reliance Industries (7.75 points) and Bharat Heavy
Electricals (6.88 points).
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Wipro (4.43%),
Infosys (3.58%), Jindal Steel & Power (1.98%), Tata Motors
(1.90%), ICICI Bank (1.86%), and GAIL (India) (1.65%).
On the other hand, Bharat Heavy Electricals (3.20%), ITC
(2.69%), Bharti Airtel (2.09%), Hindustan Unilever (0.98%), HDFC
Bank (0.91%), and Hero Motocorp (0.89%) were the major losers in
Mid & Small-cap Space
The BSE Mid and small caps outperformed their larger
counterparts gaining 0.31% and 0.24% respectively. The major
gainers in the BSE Midcap were Amara Raja Batteries (3.07%),
Allcargo Logistics (2.68%), Aban Offshore (2.48%), CORE Education
and Technologies (2.47%) and Alstom India (0.82%).The major gainers
in the BSE Smallcap were Aanjaneya Lifecare (2.46%), Aarti
Industries (2.22%), A2Z Maintenance & Engineering Services
(1.81%), Genesys International Corporation (1.74%) and Styrolution
ABS (India) (0.74%).
Sectors in Limelight
The IT index was at 5,872.21, up by 145.97 points or by 2.55%.
The major gainers were Hexaware Technologies (3.08%), CORE
Education and Technologies (2.47%), H C L Technologies (1.25%),
Mphasis (1.09%) and Oracle Financial Services Software (0.91%).
The TECk index was at 3,331.32, up by 60.55 points or by 1.85%.
The major gainers were Infosys (3.58%), Dish TV India (1.85%), HCL
Technologies (1.25%), Mphasis (1.09%) and Oracle Financial Services
The Auto index was at 9,307.14, up by 67.38 points or by 0.73%.

Value and Volume Toppers
State Bank Of India topped the value chart on the BSE with a
turnover of Rs. 744.29 million. It was followed by Axis Bank (Rs.
436.44 million), United Spirits (Rs. 433.86 million) and West Coast
Paper Mills (Rs. 401.17 million).
The volume chart was led by West Coast Paper Mills with trades
of over 6.19 million shares. It was followed by Cals Refineries
(5.23 million), Kingfisher Airlines (2.91 million) and Housing
Development and Infrastructure (2.81 million).
