Sensex trades up 0.4%; Tata Motors up 3.4%, BHEL down 1.7%

Indian equities continues to trade higher on Monday noon session.At 12.33 pm, the Sensex was trading up 76.51 points or 0.39% at 19,857.70 with 15 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 18.10 points or 0.30% at 6,017 with 24 components gaining.
The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened with a gain of 79.78 points or 0.40% at 19,860.97, while the broad based NSE Nifty started with a rise of 26.30 points or 0.44%, at 6,025.20.
Sensex Movers
Housing Development Finance Corporation
contributed rise of 39.29 points in the Sensex. It was followed by
I C I C I Bank (33.78 points), Tata Motors (22.34 points), H D F C
Bank (19.63 points) and Tata Consultancy Services (5.83
points).
However, State Bank Of India contributed fall of 11.36 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (9.69 points), Infosys (8.61 points), I T C (5.59 points) and Bharat Heavy Electricals (3.9 points).
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Tata Motors (3.37%), Housing Development Finance Corporation (2.73%), I C I C I Bank (2.15%), Jindal Steel & Power (1.56%), H D F C Bank (1.34%), and Bajaj Auto (0.90%).
On the other hand, Bharat Heavy Electricals (1.71%), Dr Reddy"S Laboratories (1.68%), State Bank Of India (1.45%), Sterlite Industries (India) (1.43%), Cipla (1.39%), and Tata Power Company (1.27%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Sectors in Limelight
The PSU index was at 7,553.42, down by 65.04 points or by 0.85%. The major losers were Bank Of Baroda(6.63%), Andhra Bank (2.98%), Bank Of India (2.85%), Allahabad Bank (1.75%) and Bank Of Maharashtra (0.09%).
The HC index was at 8,033.82, down by 45.48 points or by 0.56%. The major losers were Dr Reddy"S Laboratories (1.68%), Biocon (1.62%), Cipla (1.39%), Divis Laboratories (0.79%) and Cadila Healthcare (0.34%).
The Power index was at 1,942.71, down by 9.72 points or by 0.5%. The major losers were Bharat Heavy Electricals (1.71%), Adani Power (1.66%), JSW Energy (1.36%), G M R Infrastructure (0.99%) and C E S C (0.34%).
On the other hand, the Auto index was at 10,993.39, up by 107.55 points or by 0.99%. The major gainers were Bajaj Auto (0.9%), Cummins India (0.88%), Exide Industries (0.86%), Ashok Leyland (0.41%) and Hero Motocorp (0.37%).
Market Breadth
Market breadth was negative with 1,334 advances against 1,233 declines.
Value and Volume Toppers
Bank Of Baroda topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 423.35 million. It was followed by State Bank Of India (Rs. 389.39 million), Sun TV Network (Rs. 367.48 million) and Jet Airways (India) (Rs. 311.54 million).
The volume chart was led by Suzlon Energy with trades of over 6.10 million shares. It was followed by I F C I (3.50 million), TV18 Broadcast (2.61 million) and Cals Refineries (2.05 million).
