Sensex trades up 94 pts; ICICI Bk major gainer

Indian markets bounced back on Monday snapping earlier losses. At 10.04 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 93.98 points or 0.48% at 19,875.17 with 18 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 27.55 points or 0.46% at 6,026.45 with 28 components gaining.
The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened with a gain of 79.78 points or 0.40% at 19,860.97, while the broad based NSE Nifty started with a rise of 26.30 points or 0.44%, at 6,025.20.
Sensex Movers
I C I C I Bank contributed rise of
31.66 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Housing Development
Finance Corporation (14.25 points), Tata Motors (13.04 points), H D
F C Bank (12.23 points) and Reliance Industries (11.62 points).
However, I T C contributed fall of 9.01 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Hindustan Unilever (2.57 points), Bharat Heavy Electricals (1.47 points), Maruti Suzuki India (1.45 points) and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (1.4 points).
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were I C I C I Bank (2.01%), Tata Motors (1.96%), Hindalco Industries (1.37%), Tata Consultancy Services (1.09%), Housing Development Finance Corporation (0.99%), and Bajaj Auto (0.92%).
On the other hand, Dr Reddy'S Laboratories (1.18%), Cipla (0.94%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (0.64%), Coal India (0.63%), Maruti Suzuki India (0.54%), and I T C (0.47%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
Sectors in Limelight
The Bankex index was at 14,571.41, up by 106.25 points or by 0.73%. The major gainers were I C I C I Bank (2.01%), H D F C Bank (0.84%), Indusind Bank (0.64%), Federal Bank (0.46%) and Kotak Mahindra Bank (0.28%).
The Consumer Durables index was at 7,768.82, up by 52.99 points or by 0.69%. The major gainers were Bajaj Electricals (1.89%), Symphony (0.52%), Blue Star (0.48%), Whirlpool Of India (0.34%) and Gitanjali Gems (0.13%).
The IPO index was at 1,883.78, up by 12.31 points or by 0.66%. The major gainers were C.Mahendra Exports (5.04%), Bharti Infratel (1.65%), Credit Analysis and Research (0.42%), Future Ventures India (0.31%) and Flexituff International (0.1%).
On the other hand, the HC index was at 8,051.62, down by 27.68 points or by 0.34%. The major losers were Opto Circuits (India) (3.2%), Dr Reddy'S Laboratories (1.18%), Cipla (0.94%), Lupin (0.5%) and Biocon (0.39%).
Market Breadth
Market breadth was positive with 1,174 advances against 584 declines.
Value and Volume Toppers
United Spirits topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 131.89 million. It was followed by Jet Airways (India) (Rs. 100.49 million), State Bank Of India (Rs. 96.86 million) and United Breweries (Rs. 91.93 million).
The volume chart was led by Suzlon Energy with trades of over 2.63 million shares. It was followed by TV18 Broadcast (2.30 million), I F C I (2.19 million) and Cals Refineries (1.12 million).
