Sensex up 59 pts; HDIL most active

Indian equities continued togain in noon trade onFriday. At 12.04 p.m., the Sensex was trading up 59.11 points or 0.30% at 19,982.89 with 19 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 12.00 points or 0.20% at 6,031.35 with 28 components gaining.
The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened with a gain of 21.91 points or 0.11% at 19,945.69, while the broad based NSE Nifty began flat with a gain of 5.15 points or 0.09%, at 6,024.50.
Sensex Movers
I T C contributed rise of 16.25 points
in the Sensex. It was followed by Tata Motors (15.03 points), I C I
C I Bank (12.51 points), Tata Consultancy Services (9.27 points)
and Bharti Airtel (6.93 points).
However, Reliance Industries contributed fall of 13.46 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Housing Development Finance Corporation (13.42 points), ACC (3.37 points), Tata Steel (2.58 points) and Tata Power Company (2.37 points).
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Tata Motors (2.06%), Cipla (1.37%), Bharti Airtel (1.27%), Dr Reddy'S Laboratories (1.25%), Mahindra & Mahindra (1.03%), and Tata Consultancy Services (1.00%).
On the other hand, Tata Power Company (1.12%), Housing Development Finance Corporation (0.90%), Coal India (0.79%), Tata Steel (0.78%), Reliance Industries (0.72%), and Hero Motocorp (0.68%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Sectors in Limelight
The Consumer Durables index was at 7,502.68, up by 79.36 points or by 1.07%. The major gainers were Symphony (2.54%), Titan Industries (1.76%), Whirlpool Of India (1.44%), T T K Prestige (1.21%) and Blue Star (0.86%).
The Realty index was at 2,113.53, up by 22.25 points or by 1.06%. The major gainers were Housing Development and Infrastructure (6.1%), Anant Raj (2.85%), Indiabulls Real Estate (2.19%), Godrej Properties (1.81%) and Oberoi Realty (1.39%).
The FMCG index was at 5,823.00, up by 42.66 points or by 0.74%. The major gainers were Jubilant FoodWorks (3.08%), I T C (0.87%), Hindustan Unilever (0.5%), Dabur India (0.39%) and United Breweries (0.31%).
On the other hand, the Metal index was at 10,394.12, down by 41.49 points or by 0.4%. The major losers were Bhushan Steel (0.8%), Coal India (0.79%), Hindustan Zinc (0.76%), Jindal Steel & Power (0.49%) and JSW Steel (0.35%).
Market Breadth
Market breadth was negative with 1,120 advances against 1,319 declines.
Value and Volume Toppers
Housing Development and Infrastructure topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 1,026.15 million. It was followed by Jet Airways (India) (Rs. 371.64 million), Canara Bank (Rs. 303.75 million) and Larsen & Toubro (Rs. 218.52 million).
The volume chart was led by Housing Development and Infrastructure with trades of over 12.96 million shares. It was followed by I V R C L (4.44 million), Arshiya International (4.06 million) and Suzlon Energy (3.75 million).
