Sensex rises 95 pts in early trade

Indian marketsgained in early trade on Wednesday snapping earlier losses. At 09.18 a.m., the Sensex was trading up 95.32 points or 0.51% at 18,673.02 with 25 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 33.10 points or 0.59% at 5,681.10 with 45 components gaining.
The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened with a gain of 90.02 points or 0.48% at 18,667.72, while the broad based NSE Nifty started with a rise of 33.10 points or 0.59%, at 5,681.10.
Sensex Movers
Infosys contributed rise of 12.01
points in the Sensex. It was followed by Housing Development
Finance Corporation (9.55 points), I C I C I Bank (9.53 points), I
T C (8.03 points) and Larsen & Toubro (7.68 points).
However, Hindustan Unilever contributed fall of 1.59 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (0.32 points), NTPC (0.29 points), Hero Motocorp (0.03 points) and H D F C Bank (0.11 points).
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Tata Motors (1.22%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (1.08%), Tata Power Company (1.08%), Hindalco Industries (0.98%), Dr Reddy"S Laboratories (0.98%), and Maruti Suzuki India (0.89%).
On the other hand, Hindustan Unilever (0.22%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (0.09%), NTPC (0.09%), Hero Motocorp (0.01%), and G A I L (India) (0.01%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
Sectors in Limelight
The Realty index was at 1,843.09, up by 20.95 points or by 1.15%. The major gainers were D B Realty (4.97%), Indiabulls Real Estate (1.95%), Housing Development and Infrastructure (1.59%), Anant Raj Industries (1.37%) and D L F (0.48%).
The Auto index was at 10,224.18, up by 74.99 points or by 0.74%. The major gainers were Exide Industries (0.93%), Bharat Forge (0.86%), Ashok Leyland (0.64%), Bajaj Auto (0.33%) and Cummins India (0.29%).
The TECk index was at 3,323.56, up by 23.97 points or by 0.73%. The major gainers were Reliance MediaWorks (2.54%), Idea Cellular (0.92%), Mphasis (0.91%), Dish TV India (0.72%) and Bharti Airtel (0.71%).
The Capital Goods index was at 11,058.28, up by 77.79 points or by 0.71%. The major gainers were Bharat Electronics (2.12%), Alstom India (1.36%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (1.08%), BEML (0.61%) and Crompton Greaves (0.45%).
Market Breadth
Market breadth was positive with 667 advances against 122 declines.
Value and Volume Toppers
D B Realty topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 70.62 million. It was followed by United Spirits (Rs. 54.05 million), H C L Technologies (Rs. 46.59 million) and Era Infra Engineering (Rs. 35.49 million).
The volume chart was led by D B Realty with trades of over 0.65 million shares. It was followed by Kingfisher Airlines (0.30 million), Era Infra Engineering (0.26 million) and G H C L (0.24 million).
