European stocks advanced as investors awaited U.S. retail sales
and manufacturing data to help gauge the strength of the world"s
largest economy. U.S. index futures rose, while Asian shares were
UK"s benchmark index FTSE 100 rose 16.96 points or 0.29% to
trade at 5,810.28. French benchmark index CAC 40 advanced 31.66
points or 0.93% to trade at 3,420.74. Germany"s benchmark index DAX
increased 54.98 points or 0.76% to trade at 7,287.47.
US stock-index futures were trading higher. Dow Jones index
futures were up 47 points to 13,292, while S&P 500 index
futures were up 6 points to 1,427.50. The Nasdaq composite index
futures rose 16.25 points to 2,726.25 (03.34 ET).
