Sensex trades up 46 points; Mid and small-caps outperform

Indian equitiescontinue to trade marginally higheron Wednesday. At 10.09 a.m., the Sensex was trading up 46.01 points or 0.24% at 18,869.32. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 8.90 points or 0.16% at 5,727.70. BSE Mid and small-caps outperformed the benchmark indices with gain of 0.47% and 0.68% respectively.
Among sectoral indices, BSE Healthcare, Oil & Gas and Power were top gainers with rise in the range of 0.6 to 0.9%. On the other hand, Realty dropped the most followed by Consumer Durables and Auto.Dr. Reddys, HUL, Bhartiand RIL were major gainers the Sensex. JSPL, ITC, Hero Motocorp and Bajaj Auto were top losers in the 30-share index.
