Sensex gains over 100 pts in early trade

Indian equities gained in early trade on Friday. At 09.20 a.m., the Sensex was trading up 129.40 points or 0.71% at 18,478.65 with 23 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 43.75 points or 0.79% at 5,598 with 41 components gaining.
The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened with a gain of 61.95 points or 0.34% at 18,411.20, while the broad based NSE Nifty started with a rise of 22.75 points or 0.41%, at 5,577.
Sensex Movers
I C I C I Bank contributed rise of
25.08 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Larsen & Toubro
(18.4 points), Housing Development Finance Corporation (14.43
points), Reliance Industries (13.89 points) and State Bank Of India
(9.08 points).
However, Infosys contributed fall of 4.37 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Tata Power Company (0.49 points), H D F C Bank (0.22 points), Wipro (0.04 points) and ACC (0.24 points).
Major gainers in the 30-share index were Larsen & Toubro (1.90%), I C I C I Bank (1.83%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (1.50%), State Bank Of India (1.45%), Hindalco Industries (1.27%), and Bharti Airtel (1.25%).
On the other hand, Jindal Steel & Power (1.33%), G A I L (India) (0.71%), Infosys (0.29%), Tata Power Company (0.25%), Coal India (0.16%), and H D F C Bank (0.02%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
Sectors in Limelight
The Capital Goods index was at 10,460.55, up by 152.01 points or by 1.47%. The major gainers were Bharat Heavy Electricals (1.5%), BEML (1.23%), Alstom India (0.9%), Crompton Greaves (0.71%) and Alstom T&D India (0.6%).
The Realty index was at 1,757.88, up by 19.56 points or by 1.13%. The major gainers were Housing Development and Infrastructure (1.56%), D L F (1.48%), Indiabulls Real Estate (1.35%), Anant Raj Industries (1.08%) and Parsvnath Developers (0.25%).
The Bankex index was at 12,666.66, up by 136.34 points or by 1.09%. The major gainers were Canara Bank(2.14%), I C I C I Bank (1.83%), Bank Of India (1.83%), Bank Of Baroda (1.55%) and Indusind Bank (0.91%).
The Auto index was at 10,191.12, up by 85.75 points or by 0.85%. The major gainers were Exide Industries (1.23%), Bharat Forge (1.01%), Hero Motocorp (0.47%), Bajaj Auto (0.25%) and Ashok Leyland (0.21%).
Market Breadth
Market breadth was positive with 616 advances against 138 declines.
Value and Volume Toppers
Intellivate Capital Ventures -PPS topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 0.00 million. It was followed by Pantaloon Retail (India) (Rs. 64.45 million), State Bank Of India (Rs. 58.12 million) and Geometric (Rs. 26.26 million).
The volume chart was led by Spicejet with trades of over 0.62 million shares. It was followed by Kingfisher Airlines (0.47 million), Pantaloon Retail (India) (0.34 million) and Vakrangee Softwares (0.25 million).
