Markets may open flat

Indian equities are likely to open flat on Friday, Sept. 21, 2012. SGX Nifty is trading at 5,564.5 (07.34 a.m.), 4.5 points higher than Thursday"s closeof 5,561.
Asian stocks rose, with a regional index paring its first decline in three weeks, as oil and copper advanced. South Korea"s won strengthened. Japanese benchmark index Nikkei 225 rose 34.52 points, or 0.38%, to trade at 9,121.50.
Oil prices fell below USD 92 a barrel Thursday in international markets. New York"s main contract, light sweet crude for October dipped 13 cents to USD 91.85 a barrel after shedding more than three dollars on Wednesday. Brent North Sea crude for delivery in November gained 76 cents to USD 108.95 a barrel in late London deals on Thursday.
US stocks fell on Thursday as data from China to Japan and Europe increased concern that a global economic slowdown is worsening. The Dow Jones industrial average rose 18.97 points, or 0.14%, to close at 13,596.93.
European stocks declined on Thursday after a report signaled that Chinese manufacturing will contract for an 11th month, adding to concern the global economic slowdown is deepening. UK"s benchmark index FTSE 100 declined 33.84 points, or 0.57%, to end at 5,854.64.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index increased 0.01% to 79.41 (21:53 ET).
World commodity prices fell on Thursday with the decrease in Reuters Jefferies CRB Index by 0.48%.
