Indian equities turned positive towards closing on Friday
snapping earlier losses. IT stocks led the rise whereas realty,
capital goods and auto stocks witnessed a fall.
At 2.23 pm, the Sensex was trading up 30.76 points or 0.15% at
20,756.19 with 13 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was
trading lower by 2.95 points or 0.05% at 6,161.40 with 32

rise of 28.16 points in the Sensex. It was followed by I T C (16.27
points), Infosys (9.15 points), NTPC (8.18 points) and I C I C I
Bank (7.05 points).
However, Larsen & Toubro contributed fall of 17.88 points in
the Sensex. It was followed by Hindustan Unilever (12.63 points),
Mahindra & Mahindra (12.06 points), Bharti Airtel (7.78 points)
and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (7.08 points).
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Tata Consultancy
Services (2.58%), NTPC (2.13%), Wipro (2.01%), Bajaj Auto (0.93%),
Dr Reddy"S Laboratories (0.74%), and I T C (0.73%).
On the other hand, Hindalco Industries (3.75%), Mahindra &
Mahindra (2.27%), Tata Steel (1.91%), Hindustan Unilever (1.89%),
Hero Motocorp (1.88%), and Larsen & Toubro (1.72%) were the
major losers in the Sensex.
Mid & Small-cap Space
The BSE Mid and small caps underperformed their larger
counterparts declining -0.24% and -0.31% respectively.The major
losers in the BSE Midcap were Allahabad Bank(2.56%), A B G Shipyard
(1.38%), Aban Offshore (0.41%), A I A Engineering (0.22%) and
Allcargo Logistics (0.05%).The major losers in the BSE Smallcap
were Dr Datsons Labs (3.16%), Action Construction Equipment
(1.63%), Adhunik Metaliks (1.3%), Advanta (0.26%) and Aarti
Sectors in Limelight
The Realty index was at 1,333.23, down by 21.46 points or by
1.58%. The major losers were D L F (4.02%), Anant Raj (1.62%),
Housing Development and Infrastructure (1.31%), Indiabulls Real
Estate (0.55%) and Godrej Properties (0.41%).
The Capital Goods index was at 8,899.48, down by 132.64 points
or by 1.47%. The major losers were A B B India (3.29%), BEML
(1.61%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (1.46%), Bharat Electronics
(0.38%) and A I A Engineering (0.22%).
The Auto index was at 11,831.38, down by 104.42 points or by
0.87%. The major losers were Hero Motocorp (1.88%), Ashok Leyland
(1.47%), Exide Industries (1.33%), Cummins India (0.83%) and Bharat
On the other hand, the IT index was at 8,433.57, up by 118.32
points or by 1.42%. The major gainers were Tata Consultancy
Services (2.58%), H C L Technologies (2.5%), Wipro (2.01%), Infosys
(0.64%) and Tech Mahindra (0.2%).
Market breadth was negative with 1,001 advances against 1,377

Just Dial topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of
Rs. 627.57 million. It was followed by I C I C I Bank (Rs. 609.65
million), Tech Mahindra (Rs. 416.08 million) and Yes Bank (Rs.
The volume chart was led by Suzlon Energy with trades of over
6.23 million shares. It was followed by Dish TV India (3.57
million), S Kumars Nationwide (2.44 million) and A2Z Maintenance
& Engineering Services (2.44 million).
