At 13.29 pm, the Sensex was trading down 32 points or 0.16% at
19,710.47 with 18 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was
trading lower by 4.60 points or 0.08% at 5,836.40 with 30

contributed fall of 32.4 points in the Sensex. It was followed by
Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (22.42 points), I C I C I Bank
(20.92 points), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (16.15 points) and
Larsen & Toubro (11.46 points).
However, I T C contributed rise of 12.96 points in the Sensex.
It was followed by Wipro (11.66 points), Tata Consultancy Services
(9.47 points), Mahindra & Mahindra (7.39 points) and Tata
Motors (6.98 points).
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Wipro (4.22%), Dr
Reddy"S Laboratories (4.00%), Maruti Suzuki India (1.59%), Mahindra
& Mahindra (1.46%), Coal India (1.14%), and Tata Motors
On the other hand, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (3.50%), NTPC
(2.73%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (2.58%), Housing
Development Finance Corporation (2.11%), I C I C I Bank (1.33%),
and Tata Steel (1.30%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Mid & Small-cap Space
The BSE Midcap index was at 5579.29 down by 19.40 points or by
0.35%. The major losers were CORE Education and Technologies
(4.98%), A B G Shipyard (1.98%), Aban Offshore (0.88%), Alstom
India (0.53%) and A I A Engineering (0.31%).
The BSE Smallcap index was at 5470.67 down by 7.04 points or by
0.13%. The major losers were Dr Datsons Labs (4.91%), Aarti
Industries (2.06%), Styrolution ABS (India) (1.99%), A2Z
Maintenance & Engineering Services (0.99%) and Trident
Sectors in Limelight
The Power index was at 1,487.71, down by 21.15 points or by
1.4%. The major losers were C E S C (0.7%), Adani Power (0.58%),
Crompton Greaves (0.56%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (0.48%) and
Reliance Infrastructure (0.18%).
The PSU index was at 5,529.23, down by 51.46 points or by 0.92%.
The major losers were Bank Of Baroda(3.26%), Allahabad Bank
(2.23%), Andhra Bank (1.56%), Bank Of India (1.42%) and Balmer
Lawrie & Company (0.53%).
On the other hand, the IT index was at 7,751.68, up by 93.81
points or by 1.23%. The major gainers were H C L Technologies
(3.16%), Tech Mahindra (1.67%), Oracle Financial Services Software
(0.44%), Infosys (0.38%) and Mphasis (0.05%).
Market breadth was negative with 921 advances against 1,224
Value and Volume Toppers
Ranbaxy Laboratories topped the value chart on the BSE with a
turnover of Rs. 609.23 million. It was followed by Tech Mahindra
(Rs. 431.85 million), Yes Bank (Rs. 350.57 million) and Sesa Goa
(Rs. 343.79 million).
The volume chart was led by Indiabulls Infrastructure and Power
with trades of over 6.23 million shares. It was followed by Sesa
Goa (1.89 million), Ranbaxy Laboratories (1.86 million) and
Jaiprakash Associates (1.75 million).
