Indian equities are likely to open higher tracking mixed global
markets on Friday, October 18, 2013. SGX Nifty is trading at 6,098
(07.59 am), 28 points higher than Thursday's close of 6,070.
Asian stocks are trading positive in early trade on Friday.
Japanese benchmark index Nikkei 225 rose 0.02% to open at
14,589.60. China's Shanghai Composite opened up by 0.07% at
US stocks gained on Thursday. The Standard & Poor's 500
Index rose 11.61 points, or 0.67%, at 1,733.15. Dow Jones
industrial average was down 2.18 points, or 0.01%, at 15,371.65.
Nasdaq Composite Index was up 23.71 points, or 0.62%, at
European markets declined on Thursday. Europe's leading
Blue-chip index for the Eurozone, EURO STOXX 50 declined 5.01
points or 0.17% to settle at 3,010.39. French benchmark index CAC
40 fell 4.08 points or 0.10%, to end at 4,239.64. Germany's
benchmark index DAX went down 34.02 points or 0.38% to close at
Crude oil prices ended lower on Thursday. Light sweet crude oil
for November delivery fell USD 1.62 to settle at USD 100.67 a
barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude oil for
November settlement slid USD 1.48, or 1.3% at USD 109.11 a barrel
on the London-based ICE Futures Europe Exchange.
