Indian equities are likely to open higher tracking positive
global markets on Friday, Sept. 6, 2013. SGX Nifty is trading at
5,634 (07.39 am), 33 points higher than Thursday's close of
Asian stocks are trading mixed in early trade on Friday.
Japanese benchmark index Nikkei 225 rose 0.17% to open at
14,088.41. China's Shanghai Composite opened down by 0.15% at
US stocks gained on Thursday. The Dow Jones industrial average
rose 6.61 points or 0.04%, to 14,937.48, the S&P 500 gained 2
points or 0.12%, to 1,655.08 and the Nasdaq Composite added 9.74
points or 0.27%, to 3,658.785.
European markets climbed on Thursday. UK's benchmark index FTSE
100 climbed 57.7 points or 0.89% to settle at 6,532.44. French
benchmark index CAC 40 rose 26.38 points or 0.66%, to end at
4,006.80. Meanwhile, Germany's benchmark index DAX added 39.06
points or 0.48% to close at 8,234.98.
Crude oil prices gained on Thursday. Light sweet crude oil for
October delivery increased USD 1.14 to settle at USD 108.37 a
barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude oil for
October settlement rose 35 cents, 0.3% at USD 115.26 a barrel on
the London-based ICE Futures Europe Exchange.
