Asian stocks settled on a negative note on Wednesday amid
concern over conflict in Syria. The US and Europeanleaderssaid they
are considering options for action against Syria over the regime's
alleged use of chemical weapons.
Japanese benchmark index, Nikkei 225 fell 203.91 points, or
1.51% to close at 13,338.46. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index decreased
350.12 points, or 1.60% to end at 21,524.65. China's Shanghai
Composite index declined 2.27 points, or 0.11% to settle at
South Korea's Kospi index decreased 1.32 points, or 0.07% to end
at 1,884.52. Singapore's Straits Times indexed declined 32.35
points, or 1.07% to close at 3,001.67.
Meanwhile, Taiwan's Taiex index rose marginally 3.70 points, or
0.05% to settle at 7,824.54.
