Tata Power surges on expansion plans

Tata Power Company surged on Friday
after media reports quoted that the private utility company aims to
raise its generation capacity to 26 gigawatt(GW) by 2020, from the
current 5.2 GW. Shares of The company are trading at Rs 103.10, up
Rs 4.15, or 4.19% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Friday at
1:26 p.m.The company has completed the purchase of 51% equity
shares of Tata BP Solar India which were held by BP Alternative
Energy Holdings. The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs
103.25 and low of Rs 99.30. The total volume of shares traded at
the BSE is 482,178.In the earlier session, the shares climbed
1.33%, or Rs 1.3, at Rs 98.95. Currently, the stock is trading down
22.48% from its 52-week high of Rs 133 and above 27.84% over the
52-week low of Rs 80.65.
