CORE Edu plunges 62.4%, loses Rs 21 bn in m-cap

India'seducation company, CORE Education & Technologieslost Rs 21.08 billion in market capitalisation to Rs 12.69 billion due to 62.4% drop in share prices on Monday.

Responding to the steep fall in the price of its stock today, Nikhil Morsawala, director finance, CORE Education & Technologies said, "None of the shares it has pledged with institutions has been sold and it has confirmed with all the institutions that they continue to hold the same.''''The company's has strong order book of Rs 13.98 billion of which Rs 9.10 billion is from India spanning across next 5 years and business model will continue to be intact with we shall update our investors and shareholders once we have clear indication for the fall in price today,'' he added. Shares ofthe companyare trading at Rs 110.95, down Rs 184.3, or 62.42% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Monday. In the earlier session, the shares declined 0.19%, or Rs 0.55, at Rs 295.25. Total volume of shares traded on the bourses today wassharply higher at 27.97million compared with 22-day average volume of 64,584. Currently, the stock is trading at all time 52-week low, which is below 67.84% over the 52-week high of Rs 345. The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs 296and low of Rs 99.
