Gujarat Gas gains as quarterly profit jumps 2.8 times

Gujarat Gas Company (GGCL),a private
sector player in the natural gas transmission and distribution
business, gained on Friday after it reported a surge of 2.84 times
in consolidated net profit for the quarter ended December 2012.
During the quarter, the consolidated net profit of the company
increased to Rs 706 million as compared with Rs 250 million in the
same period last year.
Shares of the company are trading at Rs
295.65, up Rs 5.55, or 1.91% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on
Friday at 10:34 a.m.The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs
300 and low of Rs 293.80. The total volume of shares traded at the
BSE is 15,477.In the earlier session, the shares lost 0.72%, or Rs
2.1, at Rs 290.10. Currently, the stock is trading down 32.35% from
its 52-week high of Rs 437 and above 9.5% over the 52-week low of
Rs 270.
