Mah Satyam falls as Q3 earnings drop 74%

Mahindra Satyam, a consulting, IT services
and engineering solutions provider, fell on Friday after reporting
a fall of 74.07% in its net profit due to onetime exceptional loss
incurred during the quarter.
The net profit of the company stood at Rs 799.8 million as compared to Rs 3,084.3 million in the same period last year.
One-time extraordinary loss of Rs 2.94 billion pertains to the Aberdeen UK claim settlement reached during the quarter, the company said.
Total income has increased by 9.70% to Rs 20.51 billion for the
quarter ended Dec. 31, 2012 from Rs 18.69 billion in the year ago
period.
Shares ofthe companyare trading at Rs
118.70, down Rs 1.2, or 1% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on
Friday at 10:04 a.m.The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs
119.20 and low of Rs 117.25. The total volume of shares traded at
the BSE is 237,591.In the earlier session, the shares lost 2.32%,
or Rs 2.85, at Rs 119.90. Currently, the stock is trading down
5.04% from its 52-week high of Rs 125.00 and above 82.48% over the
52-week low of Rs 65.05.
