Idea Cellular gains on strong Q2 earnings

Idea Cellular, the third largest wireless
operator in India and a part of the Aditya Birla conglomerate,
gained on Tuesday after it reported strong Q2 earnings.
The company reported a growth of 2.27 times in consolidated net profit to Rs 2.40 billion as compared to Rs 1.05 billion for the quarter ended Sept 30, 2012.
During the quarter, the company saw a rise of 15.02% in total
revenue to Rs 53.14 billion from Rs 46.19 billion in the same
quarter last year.
Shares ofthe companyare trading at Rs
82.30, up Rs 1.05, or 1.29% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on
Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs
82.65 and low of Rs 81.90. The total volume of shares traded at the
BSE is 56,465.In the earlier session, the shares climbed 0.49%, or
Rs 0.40, at Rs 81.25. Currently, the stock is trading down 20.17%
from its 52-week high of Rs 103.10 and above 15.59% over the
52-week low of Rs 71.20.
