Videocon Inds gains on new hydrocarbon discovery

Videocon Industries (Videocon), an India-based electronics goods manufacturing company, gained on Friday after it has announced that Petrolea Brasileiro SA (Pertrobras), the operator of the BM-SEAL-11 concession, discovered the existence of light hydrocarbons in the concession BM-SEAL-11, in ultradeep water of the Sergipe-Alagoas basin Offshore.The discovery was made during drilling of well 1-BRSA-1083-SES (1-SES-167) informally known as "Farfan", situated in a water depth of 2720 m, located 109 km from the city of Aracaju. Shares of the companyare trading at Rs 175.45, up Rs 2.30, or 1.33% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Friday at 10:57 a.m.The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs 177.85 and low of Rs 173. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE is 6,621.In the earlier session, the shares rose 0.09%, or Rs 0.15, at Rs 173.15. Currently, the stock is trading down 10.82% from its 52-week high of Rs 196 and above 8.5% over the 52-week low of Rs 161.10.
