Power Grid gains on acquisition of Vizag Transmission

Power Grid Corporation of India, leading
power transmission company in India, gained on Monday after it the
company announced that it has been chosen as the successful bidder
for Vizag Transmission (Vizag TL).
This has been acquired under the tariff-based competitive
bidding process. In a statement to the BSE, the company said that,
the Vizag TL, a special purpose vehicle was formed to establish the
system for strengthening transmission in the southern region. Shares ofthe companyare trading at Rs
99, up Rs 1.7, or 1.75% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on
Monday at 10:54 a.m.The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs
99.40 and low of Rs 97.55. The total volume of shares traded at the
BSE is 23,857.In the earlier session, the shares rose 0.26%, or Rs
0.25, at Rs 97.30. Currently, the stock is trading down 20.45% from
its 52-week high of Rs 124.45 and above 14.19% over the 52-week low
of Rs 86.70.
